Love yourself- Yep, I said it. Do you know what it means to truly love yourself? Well, first and foremost- it means that you need to take care of yourself FIRST, because YOU deserve it.
Have you been through some life trauma, struggled with an eating disorder, or turned to food to suppress your feelings? If you can relate, you know what it's like to feel depressed, and lack self-worth.
I didn't feel like I was worthy of anything. I took care of everyone else first- my two kids, my partner, my parents, my friends, but never took care of myself. If this is you... keep reading.
I struggled for years to learn what loving myself meant. I had to learn what self-care was all about and discover why I needed it. For the past year, I dived into myself and became who I wanted to be. I can tell you exactly what I ate for the past year, my exact routine, supplements I took, etc., but none of that would have ever mattered, if I didn't practice loving myself first. So, I'm telling you- nothing will work unless you focus on yourself FIRST and foremost. You MUST focus on loving YOU before you focus on anyone else. I had to dig deep in order to unleash the authentic me; discover a new and better me and that meant really finding joy inside of me. I had to repeat daily affirmations, like these- "You are beautiful; You are worthy; You are loved; "You are strong; You are smart; You are amazing! This truly works- speak positive affirmations over you every day, even when you don't feel like it. Even when you hear a negative voice telling you that you're not good enough- repeat the positive affirmation over and over until the negative thought of self-doubt, disappears.
One thing that divorce has taught me was that I had to revitalize, revivify, and reinvent myself. I had to find myself and love myself. I was lost, I was overweight, I was depressed, and couldn't really escape the run down tired-of-life version of me.
I had to think of myself as a caterpillar going into chrysalis in order to transform. This is the only way to become the most beautiful and better version of you. You need to completely restore the old, revive yourself, renew the version of you into a 2.0 better version of yourself. The person I looked at in old photos, were pictures of me as an old beaten-down-from-life version. I was hiding myself in baggy clothes and and wearing my hair in a messy bun every single day, (which there's nothing wrong with Mom buns, because I still wear one every now and then- but I realized looking back at photos, my hair was ALWAYS in a bun, and I stopped doing my hair. I stopped respecting myself, and stopped caring about myself- I was uncomfortable in my skin, I felt overweight, tired, and just really beaten down from an awful divorce, a child with a disability, a cross country move, and basically starting over from rock bottom. So, for years I was struggling with the same feelings and low self worth, food issues, and self-doubt. It was time to go into that cocoon, and make a comeback, I needed to get my sexy back- and find my inner beauty. I had to find my authentic self.

In order to get my sexy back, and find my authentic self, I had to re-program my brain- and change everything that was an old routine or old habit, and form new, better, healthier habits. However, just like the butterfly transformation is a process, a personal transformation is a process- it doesn't happen over night. It takes time and patience. The transformation comes from within. It starts from the inside out. The only way I could start to transform was to start from the inside. The way I transformed was forming new habits which I call my magic ingredients. You need to start with self care and self love- that's the first part of transforming. I can tell you all the foods to eat, all the exercises, products, and supplements, but none of that will work unless you are strong on the inside.

Are you ready to become a better version of you?
If the answer is yes, let's begin the prep work! If you're prepared, then you will succeed. Think of this as though you're planning for a life event. You have to organize yourself; make a list of preparations, get into the right mindset by eliminating distractions and focus on the prize- YOU. Do you remember the analogy- "Rome wasn't built in a day"? It's the same for any transformation- you must mentally and physically prepare for this change. You must strengthen your mind and soul, pamper yourself, and give yourself love first and foremost. Meditate and pray for the strength to change. If you don't pray, then ask the universe for guidance and strength to change your old habits and to heal you from your struggles.
